The August Box was an absolute dream to put together and the final outcome is even more amazing then I could have imagined. The theme for this month's box was inspired by Nature.
As you may already know, I'm heavily inspired by the world around me of natural textures and colors in the landscapes. I've spent most of my life living in a rural areas surrounded by plants, trees, and local wildlife. It's where my mind finds peace and balance. As I started to plan for the August box I kept being drawn towards earthy intentions, and once I picked up the artist goods for this month the flood gates of inspiration rushed open and truly swept me along for an amazing ride!
Gina Beca is one of my most favorite Tucson artists and she was one of the first artists I reached out to about collaborating on an Elemental Essentials box.
I've always adored the way Gina blends realistic forms of people, plants, and animals with a unique and abstract eye.
I was thrilled when she delivered these incredible prints for the August box, I allowed them to actively inspired this month's jewelry collection. The line work in Gina's art urged a need for movement, this image in particular helped inspire the chain tassels. Her overall choice of color tones influenced the pallet of gemstones, metals, and textures I used.
Along with this package I included a small drawstring pouch with a mix of rose, lavender, eucalyptus, and creosote. All of these natural elements I personally gathered and dried from the gardens and plant life on my property. These can be used as a sachet, to burn, add to a soak, on your altar, or anyway that calls to you.
In carrying on the tradition that was started for the first Elemental Essentials box "New Beginnings" and the ritual from the Ninth House included in that box, I incorporated these elements into the intention setting ritual I practice while assembling the boxes for shipping.
Here's a look at the entire Nature collection for the August Elemental Essentials Box.
I was able to make a few extra this month and those will be listed on my site shop this Wednesday, August 26th- keep an eye on social media for more info.
Each month I select a different organization to donate 10% of my monthly profits.
For August I chose the Navajo & Hopi Families COVID-19 Relief.
Profits from the Elemental Essentials Box are included in that donation.
