As I read through the nominations for this giveaway, I knew it would be hard to pick just one person. So many of you out there are doing wonderful things, showing compassion and kindness to those around you. However, when I read Terra's nomination of Sunny I knew instantly she was the winner. Here's what Terra had to say about Sunny:
“I would like to nominate the lovely Sunny Wilson! I’ve loved her from the moment I met her! She welcomed me right in as a friend and member of the art community. Her and her husband Chris Mitchell Art have worked to support the community during the pandemic with fun face masks, and she has been a leader in the local BLM community, raising money for TEEM: Tucson Educational Empowerment for Minorities. This is just the tip of the iceberg of why I want Sunny to have one of these lovely boxes. Ask anyone and they will tell you what a wonderful, strong, beautiful heart, and kind person she is!”
I'd also like to add that Sunny is a member of my local Tucson community, and I too have seen the tremendous work she does and the love she brings to those around her. Not only is Sunny a hard working woman, she’s a mother, a wife, and a business owner- Old Pueblo Collective. During these recent times, I have seen her show up, speak out, and spread love through both her personal and business platforms. She continually promotes compassion, kindness and equality even when most others patience would have been worn thin. Her strength is courageous and beautiful, and it’s with so much joy that I award her with this small token of gratitude. Thank you Sunny, you are a gift and a treasure.
